the USA, and no wonder. Civilizations have inhabited The United
Kingdom since before the Roman Empire. Thus, it would only seem
natural that ghostly phenomena have been occurring in the UK for
thousands of years. Many old castles and historic mansions
dating from the Medieval period to the early 1800's have been
restored and turned into luxury hotels. Most all of these hotels
seems to have a resident ghost or two on premises who are famous
for their hauntings.

Ballygally Castle was built in 1625. Now a hotel
"it is the only 17th century building in Northern
Ireland still being used as a residence today". The
original beam ceilings and antique pine furniture which

be that of the former Lady of the castle. Lady Isobel
Shaw’s ghost is reputed to be rather playful, she
loves to knock on the doors of the guests; apparently

over 300 years, and apparently some relatives have never
left the grounds. Many long-dead Leslie aunts and uncles
have been spotted, and there's even a ghostly dog named
